Senior JavaScript/AJAX Web Developer

LiveJournal Inc. is looking for an energetic and capable Senior JavaScript/AJAX Web Developer to help contribute to our growing company. This is an exciting opportunity to join a fun, international company and to work closely with other highly-motivated employees in a start-up environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Take ownership for the design and development of major components and sub-systems using JavaScript and Web Services-based technologies
  • Develop comprehensive unit tests and contribute to system-level test design and execution
  • Ongoing development and management of XHTML, CSS and JavaScript Implementations
  • Utilizing code libraries for use in AJAX driven interfaces

Requirements:

  • JavaScript and CSS expertise preferred (but we will consider JavaScript-only candidates with excellent skills)
  • Practitioner of "unobtrusive JavaScript" techniques
  • Comfort with at least one JavaScript framework such as Dojo ExtJS, or script.aculous is desired
  • JSON-RPC
  • Google gadget and/or OpenSocial experience preferred
  • Must enjoy the challenge of creating multiple CSS-only driven themes in an environment with underlying well-tagged XHTML. (If CSS Zen Garden flavors are fun for you, you're our kind of CSS person)
