The LiveJournal Advisory Board is an international group of well informed, highly respected users who help guide the values of LiveJournal by advising the management and Board of Directors of LiveJournal, Inc. in the operation and development of the LiveJournal platform.
danah is a doctoral candidate in the School of Information at UC Berkeley. She's also a Fellow at the Harvard University Law School Berkman Center for Internet and Society, advises corporations, speaks at industry conferences, and works as an academic researcher of online media and social networking. danah has a wealth of personal knowledge of fandom and subcultures on LiveJournal.
Kyle is a photographer and successful writer who has published more than a handful of books. In 2007 his book Armed America: Portraits of Gun Owners in Their Homes was named as one of the Hundred Best Books and Ten Best Art books by amazon.com. After that he worked on the book Who Killed Amanda Palmer which came out in June 2009. Kyle currently lives in Philadelphia with stage actress trillian_stars and is working on a project called Where I Write, showing the writing spaces of fantasy and science fiction authors; it’s even featured prominently in the 2009 Worldcon program!
As a former business owner, an active investor in start-ups in a number of emerging markets and both a for-profit and a not-for-profit philanthropist, Esther provides a rare and valuable perspective on the online world. With holdings in Eastern Europe and Asia, Esther travels frequently and speaks Russian well enough to follow board meetings there. She also has an interest in space and air travel, as well as health care information.
Brad kindly invented LiveJournal, all on his own. He was but a student at the University of Washington in Seattle when he came up with the platform. These days, he's a programmer, an employee of Google and he loves his motorcycle.
Tatyana is a convinced start-up founder and has been using LiveJournal since 2001. She is the founder and maintainer of some very popular communities in the Cyrillic component of LJ. Her professional interests are in and around educational and informational-entertaining projects and also in creating an user-friendly environment. Most recently, she has become involved with the official source of communication program forming a healthy way of living: “Healthy Russia” (http://www.takzdorovo.ru).
